Group 4 - Creating An E-mail Account

Today you were taught how to create an e-mail account with Yahoo Mail. The style of teaching used was auditory, written instructions and demonstrations using the whiteboard. How successful do you think the lesson was? Did you find it easy or difficult follow all instructions? What made you seek support - forgot instruction, required verification that you were doing the correct thing or frightened to make a mistake? Comment on why you were successful of unsuccessful today.

I think I learned by memory. But I did sometimes have to look at the sheet. If I didn't have a sheet I probably would of coped.

What I thinkl of learning is that it is always better if the teacher explains everything to the pupils step by step. It is also a good idea to show how the task is done by showing it on the projector or white board. that way, pupils won't get bored so easily and will see the task through more clear eyes. niamh, L7S

I think the lesson was successful for me because the way it awas explained on the sheet was simple and the way it told to us was easy-to-follow. Overall I prefered reading the instructions but listening to them did help.

On Tuesday in ICT we made a Yahoo! Mail Account and we learnt how to do it in lots of different ways and steps. I listen to Mrs.Tonner, looked at the board and followed my instructions. I thought the way i did it was very successful.

We Learnt to make an account on yahoo by audio , projectary and visual.Mrs Tonner read out what to do , she did it on the projector and she gave us a sheet of instructions.I found that the sheet was more useful to me because I can never remember what to do when she reads them out or does them on her projector. This makes me a visual learner. In our ICT lesson we were taught by looking, listening and by written instructions.I thought the lesson was successful because most people find it easier to learn in a certain way and as the main three ways of teaching were inquorparated within the lesson, everyone managed to complete the task given.
I mostly used the written instructions as I could refer back to them if I had forgotten what to do.

In ICT last Tuesday, the 23rd of January, we learnt to make a YAHOO! E-MAIL ACCOUNT by looking at the computer on the big screan, Mrs Tonner telling us what to do and written instructions. I think I learnt what to do by the writtrn instructions and Mrs Tonner telling us what to do.I think this lesson was very successful because i now have a YAHOO! E-MAIL ACCOUNT and I use it a lot to e-mail my frends. Georgina

I feel that this excersise was successful because i was looking at the board and listening to Mrs Tonner i sometimes think that it is better to have a booklet and Mrs Tonner writing on the board so if you miss something then you can look at the booklet i dont think i need both but it is always good to have both.I prefer to read and look at the board so i think i am a reader and a looker.

I thought last week at I.C.T was quite easy. I got it finished and found it quite easy. I found it easier having the page on the board infront of me. I couldn't remember everything to put in boxes or what button to press, so i used the booklet.

I think that the lesson about differnet was of learning was successful because it showed everybody that there are maney differnet methods that canhelp people to learn. The most common ways of learning are looking, listing and reading.I found looking or watching to be the easiest to understand.I am able to remember numbers rather than letters and can remember things from watching a dmo or film easyer than reading or listing.Blair,L7s

I set up my Yahoo mail by listening to the teacher ,reading the instructions and looking at the projector.Mrs Tonner told the class where to type in the informationon on the projector. When the class finished setting up their Yahoo mail,we had to print two pages telling us our Yahoo ID and address. It was a success making them. I thought today's lesson was very clear as we were given three choices of learning - listening, watcing and reading. I liked the lestening and reading best. It's harder to watch things on the smart board because it's all too quick. I wonder what next week's lesson will be.

Last week at ICT we were making email accounts at yahoo.co.uk. To learn to do this we had the teacher (Mrs Tonner) talking, the whiteboard and a booklet telling us what to do. Even though we had all of this I still didn't quite manage to do the last little part of the task! I need to listen more carefully at all times especially in school.
