Group 2 - Creating An E-mail Account

Today you were taught how to create an e-mail account with Yahoo Mail. The style of teaching used was auditory and written instructions. How successful do you think the lesson was? Did you find it easy or difficult follow all instructions? What made you seek support - forgot instruction, required verification that you were doing the correct thing or frightened to make a mistake? Comment on why you were successful of unsuccessful today.

Last week I was taught visually and orally. I found it quite easy because I had something to look back at. I'm not sure if this is the best way to teach me or not because I think I will do better being taught just visually.

Mrs.Tonner showed us the lesson by putting things on the board like web pages as well as speaking. This worked well becauseI found the lesson easier I would prefer that to just speaking.I also enjoyed the vario phone it was great.Ross

I found the lesson on Monday quite easy. Mrs.Tonner wrote everything on the board so when we got stuck I had something I could refer back to. I found it easier than just being told what to do. My favourite way to be tought is to have the information to look back on so this worked well for me.

I thought the lesson was hard for me beause I forgott half of it because Mrs.Tonner was just talking and to me people talk reallyfast and it is really hard to take it all in! I like visual better! So it was hard to me!

Todays lesson was successful because some of the information was visual and some was oral, therefore it was easier to understand the instructions. It was good that everyone got checked after each stage so that no-one got left behind or confused.I think im a more visual learner.Joseph.

I think the best and easiest way to be taught is by using books and the teacher. It is good to have a book or a bit of paper in front of you to make sure you are doing the right instructions. It also helps if the teacher writes on the board what you have to do so I think using books or notes as well as the teacher is the best way to learn. When Mrs Tonner wrote down on the board instructions to do on Yahoo I think that helped.

On Monday Mrs Tonner taught us visually and aurally.I found being taught this way a very helpful way to learn. If I forgot or wasn't sure on an instruction I could refer to the board to reinforce the message. Morven.

I thaught the lesson was hard because i prefer to hav my work infront of me so i can look back on my work . i needed to concentrate more because i seemed to get some things wrong . Although i am a visual learner i still like to have the work infront of me and not on the board . Craig

I thought the I.C.T lesson was good because I learnt a lot more about emails and I had never done anything like this before.I enjoy it because I found it really good to use because it is a great way to talk friends.

I was vary confident with my teacher writing things on the board. I'm not so confident with people just saying the command out.

On Monday Mrs Tonner taught us using visual and aural methods. I found it easier than just using the aural method because if I get told something normally I forget it so it is always useful to have the option to check the instruction using the visual method. My favourite method is the visual and aural method.

Mrs Tonner made it easier to make an e-mail acount because she wrote instructions on the board. She also took time to talk to use and explain what we had to do.

Todays lesson went well. I preferred it when we were on the computer rather than the speaking part of the lesson. My favourite part was making the yahoo log-on or searching through the internet comparing the I phone or the Vario phone. The hardest part was probably listening because if you got it wrong there was no way of going back.

T think it is better in ICT when Mrs Tonner tells us instructions orally rather than writing them down or showing us how to do it before hand.In our ICT lesson last week i do not think i needed Mrs Tonner to write down the address of Yahoo for she could have still writen itout orally and i still would have been fine i enjoy Mrs tonner reading it out orally rather than writing them down on the whitboard on on a piece of paper for everyone to see.

The lesson today was quite straight forward. It was harder for me having a mix of oral and sight. I understood it quite well but I would of found it more easy if I had the different steps written out on a piece of paper beside me If I was told alot of instructions for a long time it would take me less time to do. I thought the lesson was quite easy because Mrs Tonner told us wat to do step by step. Some of the lesson was quite hard because when she wrote the word on the board and took it away I couldnt remember it.I find it easier when Mrs Tonner tells us wat to do step by step.
