Group 3 - Creating An E-mail Account
Today you were taught how to create an e-mail account with Yahoo Mail. The style of teaching used was written instructions. How successful do you think the lesson was? Did you find it easy or difficult follow all instructions? What made you seek support - did not understand instructions, required verification that you were doing the correct thing or frightened to make a mistake? Comment on why you were successful of unsuccessful today.

I thought that learning by reading instuctions was good because if you forgot what you had to do you could go and read it again to refresh your memory. I like this way of learning because i don't have a very good memory and it is very good.

My favourite way to learn
My favourite way to learn is when the teacher gives out instructions verbally. I like this way because I find it easier than when it is written down. Probably because I sometimes miss things when I read them.
I also like to find out about things by using the internet, because I like using the computer and it is so easy to get information on just about anything.
I also like to ask my Dad to help me, as he is good at finding things on the internet.

I thought that the lesson was very successful even though I missed a few important details if I really concentrated I managed to do it. I still think that i leanr best when a teacher is talking to me telling me exactly what to do. Because last week I kept missing out little details.

On Tuesday i learnt how to create a yahoo account.I thought i was quite lucky because i find it easier when i have a piece of paper infront of me with instructions and pictures infront of me but i find it quite hard when i have to listen for a long period of time thats when i start to forget things quite quickly.

At first I thought that I learned by reading because I like reading and enjoy it. I also tought this because I forget instructions very easily. When I was taught using written instructios only I found that I sometimes miss out bits and I wasn't able to complete the task properly . Now I think I learn better if a teacher explains the task and I get a set of instructions to look back to if I forget what I heve to do. Kerry
I thought that the lesson was fairly easy because the instructions were easy to follow and if i got stuck, I could look back at the instructions. It was easy to concentrate in the classroom because it was very quiet. There were pictures to help me if I didn't understand something. It could have been easier if the teacher explained it to you at the same time as you were reading the instructions.

I found the lesson in my last I.C.T class very interesting. It was very informative and I learned a great deal. It will be very useful having an e mail address as I can now e mail my friends at school. The teacher gave us instructions which were reasonably easy to fallow and I felt comfortable asking questions when I felt unsure of how to proceed. The lesson made me look forward to future lessons in some subjects

On the 23rd of January we did a reading exercise in I.C.T I found the exercise quite easy but got stuck on one or two of the questions, but over all I found the questions clear and easy to understand. Also the pages were illustrated very well and I enjoyed the lesson thoroghly.

Tuesdays lesson was about making your own yahoo email account, so you could email your friends. Mrs Tonner gave out sheets saying what to do. You could not ask the person sitting beside you for help. You had to ask Mrs Tonner but she was counting how many pupils were needing help. I thought it was quiet easy and i managed to get through it all. Some of the questions i needed to ask for help because i didn't know whether to put your owm or the one on the sheet telling you what to do. I enjoyed doing it and i'am know emailing my friends. So overall it was a sucessful task.
I found making the e-mail account quite easy because, all the instructions were written down for us . Therefore , if i got stuck i could read it over again without asking any questions . When i'm learning i think it is best to use as many senses as possible . I probably would remember most of how to do it , but i don't think i would be able to tell someone else exactly how to make an account . There is a saying that goes something like this , 'I hear and i forget , I do and i remember !' Sarah
On Tuesday I found the lesson easy and enjoyable because the lesson was taught via words and pictures on a piece of paperon a piece of paper and it was easier than just saying thewords orally but there were a fewthings I did not understand soI had toput my hand up to ask the teacher but then I knew what to do.After that I knew how to work the yahoo Email account so I started sending some emails in class.Cameron
I thought that last weeks lesson was a real succes. Using information on paper was alot easier than trying to learn verbal information. However using informative paper made setting up a Yahoo account very simple because you can refer back to your information when ever you like instead of having to rememner everything all at once Cameron H
I thought the lesson where we had only written instructions was very good as if you missed out a detail or it didn't work then you could go back and read through it again
I managed to do this task fairly easily
Jamie
I found setting up an email account was difficult because you were not allowed to ask the person sitting next to you for help.It was also quite difficult to me because it was independent and I am not very good at being independent
Katie
We loaded the email account with a booklet of instructions and I must admit I needed quite a lot of help because I didn't understand the wording very well. Kirsty
